Gamma Phi Beta has a philanthropic focus on Building Strong Girls. Through our organization, we strive to create a community where girls and women have the skills to succeed in life.
Girls on the Run is a volunteer-led program that weaves training for a 5K run with fun, experience-based lessons that improve self-awareness, build a collection of positive experiences, and inspire life-changing confidence through accomplishment.
Early Head Start serves as our local philanthropy here in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Early Head Start provides families with the educational tools to nurture a relationship between caregiver and child. Early Head Start also has programs to engage children in their developmental years to provide them with the best tools in order to succeed later in life.
Pancake Palooza is our philanthropic event held during the fall semester, benefitting our local chapter of Girls On The Run, as well as our local philanthropy, Early Head Start. People from all across campus come to eat pancakes, listen to music, hangout with friends, and even participate in our pancake eating contest.
Moonball is our philanthropic event held during the spring semester, benefitting our local chapter of Girls On The Run, as well as our local philanthropy, Early Head Start. At Beta Psi, we hold a basketball tournament where other organizations create teams and compete to win a donation towards their own philanthropic partner. Getting to cheer on other organizations while raising money for a good cause is always a great time.
Cokes For Kasey is another philanthropic event held in the spring that is special to our chapter. Cokes For Kasey honors our sister, Kasey Waycoff, who passed away her sophomore year after being hit by a drunk driver. The Kasey Waycoff Foundation now raises awareness towards drunk driving and provides a scholarship for one of our sophomore members each year. Kasey loved Coca-Cola, so each year we have a carnival with tons of games, a dunk tank, hot dogs, and of course, lots of Coca-Cola. This philanthropic event is a way for us to celebrate her life and give back to The Kasey Waycoff Foundation.
